Thank you, ANet, for proving what many of us here have believed for a long while: You DO indeed listen to your fans both here and elsewhere.

I hope the economic "adjustment" holds and that prices stabilize making the game affordable for everyone, rabid and casual players alike.

Now that you have shown your willingness to listen to AND implement player suggestions, I can't wait to see what will be forthcoming in the next months. Hopefully, most things that people have suggested (that truly DO need fixing) will see the light of day and receive the attention so richly deserved.

Thank you again!

This wasn't as much a change as it was a fix to something that went terribly wrong in one of the past updates. Thanks for rectifying it Anet.

I agree, it is a nice fix. If only they had set some limits for the reset (aka not drop everything to 100g). Maybe they should've set reasonable boundaries like resetting ectos to 5k and letting them build up instead of 100g, and letting people buy 250 of them, then immediately sell afterwards for huge profit.

You've seen the posters here, many have made 1+ million gold from this. You think that fixed the economy? No, that made it a bit worse, now that there's all this gold floating around.

Good idea, but better planning would've made this update better.

After having complained very loud and very long, I hope the system remains fair to all. On first glance, it apears selling prices to trader are compatible with buying prices. A lot of folks hording on "spec" will get hurt, but for the majority, it looks good now, for EVERYONE, veteran and beginner.

People will only make millions for a time. Once the wider public gets wind of the fact that people are buying this stuff so cheaply, they will, in turn, buy their own things from vendors rather than through player transaction. Right now it's still new and the people who are willing to take advantage of the fact that it's not widely been circulated that this has happened will have the bottom drop out of the market once the public is better educated.

Either way, it still proves that ANet is listening and trying. And, who's to say that this isn't the first in a -series- of moves to improve the economy?

Oh, and one other thing: TWO updates/fixes in ONE WEEK? Say it ain't so!

More like ANet messed up again and screws the people who aren't around, cause the prices are going right back up to the way they were before. I wasn't around to hoard the ectos a few hours ago, and I just spent all my money on 12-13k ectos thinking that was the lowest price lately. Way to go ANet.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Personally, whether or not it worked (I haven't logged in yet to see) I'm just happy they are making an attempt.

Its great that they made changes and all, but I don't like the 'lets break something to oblivion and fix it 2 months later' attidute that I'm feeling coming from ANet.

There is a game specifically tailored to that kind of playstyle. It is called EVE online, i would suggest you look it up, because that is not what GW is focused around and the "fixing" that occured was to help stimulate balance between players. This style of change was similar to many of the other changes to help make things available to everyone, not just a few people who have hoarded up money and do things of this nature because you have nothing better to do with it.

Just stop, cause you obviously don't know how an "economy" works.

Like somebody else said in another thread, I've also spent weeks farming the UW to build up and maybe *MAYBE* get ahold of fissure armor, then all the sudden in the blink of an eye in a 5 minute period while I was in the UW farming those ectos suddenly everybody has hundreds of them within minutes for 1/10 of the cost and time I've wasted trying to get them myself.

Cute.

The fix in the end is for the better, but it makes me wonder if it was worth logging all the time or should I have been playing WoW, Madden or CS?

Massively devaluing items once their value has already been established is not fair, nor economically correct. The people dictate the price of items and ANET just decided to play god.
LOL....there's just NO happiness, is there? Ultimate_Gaara: You thought you might get a couple hours without economy complaint threads? Heh...you got about two minutes.

I would have agreed with you if the prices actually stayed lower. But they are skyrocketing right back up to where they were a few hours before. And there are most likely BOTS camping the traders making it impossible to buy anything in demand.

At least Ectos are back up to their value. Good job ANET for blessing the few that got all their ectos at appauling low prices.

Hi guys. You know what the main problem was right? People didn't sell to the trader because buyback prices were incredibly low, therefore prices went up. People being the geniuses they are, decided they'd base their own trade prices off of the trader, hence the 11-15k ecto prices.

The update fixed that. Things will even out now.

The system they put into place (unannounced) can't have been properly tested, was thoroughly broken and I sure as heck hope they didn't need players to inform them of this fact, with black dye selling for +40,000g while it bought for 28g there should've been a large number of alarm bells going off at ArenaNet HQ.

It's good they fixed this, but praising their willingness to listen to player suggestions is pretty out of place I think. It's like thanking the doctor for saving your life when he was the one that put the bullet through your lungs in the first place.
